Betsy Barber Bancroft - Wild Honeysuckle

Hearts speak summer and sun-dried leaves whisper in this collection of lyrical poetry. As the poet examines nature as a link between God and Man, the environment she evokes takes on human qualities. Endowed with a spiritual essence, each flower and "wordless tree" is a communication between the heavens and earth that brings the presence of the Almighty closer in heart and mind. And each is a cause for celebration. Betsy Barber Bancroft is a distinguished author of poetry who has been honored by the Education Department of the University of Alabama at Birmingham and by Northwestern State University of Louisiana. A member of the Women's Committee of 100 for Birmingham, she served as an officer in the National League of American Pen Women, Alabama Writers' Conclave, Alabama State Poetry Society, and Bluff Park Art Association. Bancroft is a recipient of the Alabama Historical Commission's Award of Merit. Her books of poetry, Wild Honeysuckle and Green Again, each won the Printing Industries of America Award for Excellence in Printing and Design upon first publication.

Rick Bragg in the Movies

Even though you weren’t able to attend the September 26, 2011, sold-out world premiere of Alabama’s Rick Bragg: Out of the Dirt, here’s your opportunity to view the entire movie at home, as well as much bonus footage not seen in the original documentary.

Listen in on distinguished Alabamaians, local friends and family tell inside tales on Rick as a child and award-winning best-selling author. Rick also gives his life’s philosophy in many scenes. Find out about his mother’s poetry; hear his aunt tell of dressing him as a girl when he was a tot. If ever there was a priceless gift, this is it.

You may order the two DVD (22.95) set through our secure, encrypted link Here
