The Birmingham Pledge presents Tanner Colby whose powerful new book, Some of My Best Friends Are Black brings national attention the the manner in which Vestavia High School handled forced busing. Mr. Colby will be introduced by Carol McKinstry, who survived the Sixteenth Street Church bombing, but lost an eye in the blast. Her four best friends were killed. Ms. McKinstry will also sign copies of her story, While the World Watched. Wine will be served and copies of the Birmingham Pledge will be available for signing.
