William Cobb |

William Cobb is a native of Demopolis. He graduated from Livingston State University, and was Writer-in-Residence and taught at the University of Montavello for three decades.
In 1984, he was named Livingston's Distinguished Alumnus of the Year and in 1999 was named Alabama Library Association Author of the Year. His novel A Walk Through Fire was was named a finalist for the IPPY (Independent Publishers' "Book of the Year") and was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize.
He has written six novels and a book of short stories. William is a respected playwright, having three off-Broadway productions, including Sunday's Child, which starred Academy Award-winning actress Celeste Holm.
