Wayne Greenhaw was born in Sheffield, graduated from the University of Alabama and now lives in Montgomery. He has written television scripts and was a reporter for and then editor of the Alabama Journal. The Southeastern Tourism Society named him Travel Writer of the Year in 1995. Wayne was editor and publisher of Alabama Magazine and associate publisher of Black Belt Publishers. He was awarded a Nieman Fellowship from Harvard and is a former director of the Alabama Bureau of Tourism. He has been honored by the Associated Press and Sigma Delta Chi, and serves as a director for the Alabama Humanities Foundation.
His latest book, with Donnie Williams, is entitled The Thunder of Angels: The Montgomery Bus Boycott and the People who Broke the Back of Jim Crow.
