Charles Ghigna |

Charles Ghigna, aka Father Goose, lives in Homewood with his poet wife, Debra. He taught Creative Writing for many years at The Alabama School of Fine Arts in Birmingham. Chuck was selected as a contributor for The Twentieth Century Children's Poetry Treasury, a Book Sense Book-of-the-Year finalist. Animal Trunk: Silly Poems to Read Aloud is the best selling children's title we've ever had. Mice Are Nice was chosen as a Book of the Month Club selection.
The Ghignas have collaborated with the renowned illustrator Mary O'Keefe Young to publish Christmas Is Coming! We anticipate this book will become a seasonal classic. Charles Ghigna has written books for Disney under the name Father Goose and his feature Snickers was syndicated in newspapers around the country.

Rick Bragg in the Movies
Even though you weren’t able to attend the September 26, 2011, sold-out world premiere of Alabama’s Rick Bragg: Out of the Dirt, here’s your opportunity to view the entire movie at home, as well as much bonus footage not seen in the original documentary.
Listen in on distinguished Alabamaians, local friends and family tell inside tales on Rick as a child and award-winning best-selling author. Rick also gives his life’s philosophy in many scenes. Find out about his mother’s poetry; hear his aunt tell of dressing him as a girl when he was a tot. If ever there was a priceless gift, this is it.
