Paul Hemphill

Paul Hemphill was born in Birmingham and graduated from Auburn. Baseball's loss (his professional career ended with the Class D Graceville Oilers of the Alabama-Florida League) was literature's gain. After becoming one of the best-read columnists in the South and after stints as a Nieman Fellow and writer-in-residence at Brenau College, he began writing his highly acclaimed three novels and ten works of non-fiction.

Paul Hemphill's titles include the following:

Lovesick Blues: The Life of Hank Williams
Lost in the Lights
Nobody's Hero
The Ballad of Little River
Wheels
The Heart of the Game
Leaving Birmingham
Me and the Boy
The Good Old Boys
Mayor
The Nashville Sound
King of the Road
The Sixkiller Chronicles
Long Gone
A Tiger Walk Through History
