Julia Oliver

Julia Oliver was born in Sylacauga and now resides in Montgomery. She studied creative writing while pursuing a music degree at the University of Alabama. Julia is a musician, playwright and the author of many short stories and three books.

Her first book, Seventeen Times as High as the Moon, is a strong collection of short stories praised in Publishers Weekly and Library Journal. Goodbye to Buttermilk Sky, her first novel, has been selected by the University of Alabama Press for reprinting in their Deep South series.

Her novel Music of Falling Water is a gripping story of three sisters set in Alabama during World War One. The book received wide acclaim during Julia's book tour throughout the South. Her latest book is Devotion.
