THE BOOK OF MY LIVES is not exactly a memoir, but the author's first work of non-fiction gives the reader a glimpse his early beginnings in peaceful Sarajevo, through his life in Chicago . He explains the anguish of war breaking out in his home country as his family flees, leaving behind everything they had ever known.
