MANHATTAN BEACH was one of the most anticipated books of the season. This dark story is set during World War Two when a woman's life was structured, and the protagonist becomes the only female diver at the Brooklyn Naval Yard. She also has her own ideas about sexual appetites, and becomes involved with a mob boss who may have been involved in her father's disappearance.
THIS COPY (shown below) was signed by Jennifer Egan on a page that was bound into the book. It is a new, unread first edition opened only for signing. Published in October, 2017 by Scribner, an imprint of Simon and Schuster.
JENNIFER EGAN (pictured below from our Wall of Fame) won both the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Critics Award. She is considered one of this generation's finest storytellers. The reading world is fortunate this great writer decided to become a novelist. In college, she dated Steve Jobs who installed a Macintosh computer in her bedroom. Maybe that relationship influenced her to include a full chapter in her last book formatted as a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation. Thank you Jennifer Egan for signing our books.
