In his author photo for the book, Robert McCammon had makeup artist and photographer Amanda Chapman create “The Wicked Gambler" for his author photo, and has also written a short story entitled The Wicked Gambler and His Walking Cane to tell the origin of the titular cane from the image (shown below).

The cane itself was the prize in a giveaway that took place at our launch party on Saturday, October 28, 2023!  Each purchase of SEVEN SHADES OF EVIL from Alabama Booksmith prior to the event came with one entry into the drawing.
