KATHRYN TUCKER WINDHAM (pictured below from our Wall of Fame) was one of the store's closest friends and most popular authors. She died in 2011 at the age of ninety-three, and we still miss her every day. She was a pioneer for her gender in the newspaper business, wrote more than thirty books, but was known nationwide for her storytelling, especially her ghost stories. R.I.P. Dear Kathryn.
THIS VIDEO was shot on July 11, 2010, the fiftieth anniversary of the publication of To Kill a Mockingbird. Kathryn celebrated the occasion by sharing stories about Harper Lee - including the time Harper Lee bit Kathryn's college roommate! R.I.P. Kathryn, we love you and miss you.
