ANGELS IN THE SKY: HOW A BAND OF VOLUNTEER AIRMEN SAVED THE NEW STATE OF ISRAEL is a modern day David-and-Goliath tale that reads like fiction. There would be no Israel if this rag-tag group of World War Two veterans from around the world had not defied their own nation's law and risked their lives for a righteous cause. They flew patched up Spitfires, Mustangs and even Messerschmitts surrounded and outnumbered by modern fighting machines but came out victorious. This remarkable and intense story was compiled from first person interviews and archival research.

THIS COPY (shown below) was signed by Robert Gandt on the title page at the store. It is a new, unread first edition opened only for signing. Published in October, 2017 by W.W. Norton

ROBERT GANDT (pictured below from our Wall of Fame) has written fifteen works of fiction and nonfiction. He has also adapted several for television. As the youngest active duty pilot in the Navy, a captain with two major commercial airlines and head of an aerobatic flying team, he certainly had a leg up in writing about flight. Thank you Robert Gandt  for signing our books.
