THE COMMITTED follows the titular character from Nguyen's Pulitzer Prize-winning novel The Sympathizer as he makes his way to Paris as a refugee and teams with his blood brother to make their way by selling drugs. His business pulls him into a circle of left-wing elites, opening up a world of strange experiences and new dangers that will shape his future as well as those of his two best friends.

VIET THANH NGUYEN (shown below on our Wall of Fame) was born in Vietnam and raised in America, where he is now the Aerol Arnold Chair of English and American Studies and Ethnicity at the University of Southern California and a recipient of fellowships from the Guggenheim and MacArthur foundations. His first novel, The Sympathizer, was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for fiction in 2016, and has also written or edited multiple collections of short stories and non-fiction.
