THE THINGS THEY CARRIED was named by The New York Times to their Book of the Century list. Many critics consider this the best book ever written on the Vietnam War. It is about more than war; it is about the human heart, emotional baggage, loyalty, love, death and life. It is a marvel of storytelling.
